Juanita High School’s production of “A Wrinkle in Time” this weekend

Individuality. Courage. Adventure.  Madeleine L’Engle’s classic sci-fi tale, “A Wrinkle in Time,” produced by Juanita Rebel Drama, will play for three remaining shows this weekend–November 17, 18, and 19 at 7:30 pm.

Meg Murry (Sophie Larson) is the typical misfit: a middle-school math whiz with glasses and a short temper. But when she and her oddly gifted little brother (Grace Harrington) set off to find their missing father (Matthew Triplett), they’re propelled across time to a world where being different isn’t just an aggravation—it can cost you your life!

The children are helped by an other-worldy trio (Christa Ullery, Hannah Jones, Jocelyn Sauze), but it will be up to Meg to discover on her own the power she possesses to bring her family home (spoil alert: it has to do with LOVE!).

A Wrinkle in Time had its world premiere in 2014 at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival and was released to be performed by other Theatre groups this year. Juanita Rebel Drama is proud to join a handful of schools across the country to be the first to produce Tracy Young’s adaptation of A Wrinkle in Time! Juanita Drama’s production will feature an ensemble cast playing a variety of roles, still and video projections as scenic elements, and the quirky intelligence of Madeleine L’Engle’s beloved characters.

Directed by Elizabeth McMurray-Hauk, with Student Assistants: Sarah Baker and Park Lytle, Tech Assistants: Gary Hauk and Lars Myren.
