Kirkland Performance Center (KPC) is excited to have mandolinist David Grisman and his Dawg Trio perform two shows on November 17, 2018 at 3:00PM and 8:00PM. Tickets are available for both performances.

Longtime friend and collaborator of the late Grateful Dead guitarist Jerry Garcia, Grisman is a guiding force in the evolving world of acoustic music. An acoustic pioneer and innovator, David forged a unique personal artistic path, skillfully combining elements of the great American music/art forms of jazz and bluegrass with many international flavors and sensibilities to create his own distinctive idiom of “Dawg” music (the nickname given him by Jerry Garcia).

David Grisman began his career during the explosive folk and blues revival of the 1960s, working in the Even Dozen Jug Band with future stars Maria Muldaur and John Sebastian before launching a career as a solo artist and a collaborator with gypsy jazz legend Stéphane Grappelli, Del McCoury, Red Allen, Bonnie Raitt, and Grateful Dead guitarist Jerry Garcia, among others. Grisman’s iconic 1975 acoustic quintet album with Jerry Garcia, Old and in the Way, became one of the best-selling bluegrass albums of all time. In the same year, he formed his most enduring ensemble, the hugely influential David Grisman Quartet, which is still active today.

Saturday, November 17, The Dawg Trio comes to perform in Kirkland at the intimate 400 seat venue that is KPC. Get tickets and join us as we experience this legendary musician live.
