Elementary students will battle it out in the kitchen to be crowned Future Chefs champion

On March 14th, fourteen 4th and 5th grade students will take to the kitchen to create Asian inspired dishes based on their own recipes in theSodexo Future Chefs competition. With the help of a nearby adult, the students will need to prepare and cook the dish in a set amount of time alongside their peers. Students dishes will be judged on a range of factors like nutrition, preparation and overall quality. The winner of the overall quality award will be considered to compete in the regional finals.

Who: 14 fourth and fifth-grade students from throughout Lake Washington School District.
When: March 14, 2:30 – 6:00 p.m. (judging for the competition begins at 4:30 p.m.)
Where: Rose Hill Middle School, 13505 NE 75th St, Redmond, WA 98052
Why: Sodexo’s Future Chefs Competition is a national challenge encouraging students to make healthy
food choices and get creative in the kitchen. The event was created to get kids thinking about and
making healthy choices by increasing fruit, vegetable and whole grain choices in their diet.
